So a big thanks to colleagues, associates and friends who sponsored and supported me on the Peak District ultra challenge last weekend. I managed to complete 100km walking continuously in 23 hours 22 mins. There was quite a lot of carnage along the way with strewn bodies and flagging legs from 70k but the support I got and the money donated for charity kept me strong through the night and to the end!
It was for a really worthy cause and contributes to the fundraising that the Tolley team has been walking during June and July for DEBRA UK supporting patients with EB and their families. Well done to Mandy Strickson and Christine Worsley for taking part in the 25k challenge and doing it in a fast time. Overall, the whole team has raised at least £3,500, so far! We are very keen to support people affected by rare diseases by supporting pharma companies with innovative medicines to navigate the HTA journey, and by taking on personal challenges to fund raise for patient charities.
